Ecumenism - the visit of the Patriarch of Romania
From 21-28 June 1966 the Patriarch of Romania was in the UK as a guest of Michael Ramsey. The photos here are a record of the Patriarch's visit to Nashdom.
In mid 1966, I was an OFM Franciscan in San Damiano, Assisi, and my Father Guardian asked me to help him with a meeting of Anglican and Catholic members of religious orders. I was delighted and remember well meeting Dom Patrick Dalton of Nashdom. I have always wondered what more become of him. We met in the little monastery of Le Carceri on Mount Subasio. I also remember Fr. Peter, and Anglican Franciscan who later died in San Miniato in Florence, unfortunately Blessings to all.
